  •   Broadcast Stations
    dB Broadcast is one of the UK’s largest SIs and this allows the company to take responsibility for the full technical infrastructure of a new TV station. dB can also provide support to both the architects and builders. The facility could include studios, edit suites, newsroom, master control, lines room, satellite feeds and playout areas, and all taking advantage of the latest technology.
  •   TV Studios
    The staff at dB have more than 20 years experience in designing and installing TV studios and their associated control rooms throughout the world. These include HD, SD and PAL studios for large scale productions, news broadcasts, specialist shopping channels, universities, football championships, athletic events and many others. dB can provide a full turnkey solution or upgrade existing facilities.
  •   Radio Studios
    dB has installed radio cubicles and studios around the world which are designed to meet the customer’s exact needs. Some are stand alone radio stations and others have associated TV facilities.
  •   Edit Suites
    dB’s team can provide linear or non-linear edit suites, either networked or stand alone. dB will also provide custom or modular technical furniture which can include motorised height adjustment.
  •   Newsroom Systems
    dB Broadcast has installed tapeless newsroom systems around the world including one of the largest in the Middle East containing over 100 seats of AP’s ENPS newsroom system.
  •   Playout Systems
    dB has designed and installed playout systems from a single channel facility to those with more than 30 channels using products from a large number of different manufacturers. In all cases, the key areas to consider are workflow, expansion capabilities and compatibility between the available products.
  •   Technical Areas
    In many cases, central technical area (CTA) installations are at existing facilities where it is essential to maintain a live on-air service. This requires careful planning and timing. It also often involves overnight or weekend work.
  •   Outside Broadcast (OB) Vehicles
    The staff at dB have been involved in designing and building a large number of different customised OB vehicles. These range from transmitter survey vehicles, radio cars, 4/5 camera vans, to large TV and radio trucks. Construction and testing takes place at dB’s purpose-built premises close to Cambridge, with the customer coming to the factory to accept the vehicles.
  •   Encoding and Multiplexing Systems
    dB has unrivalled experience in designing, installing and configuring encoding and multiplexing systems with an installed base of more than 400 projects worldwide. dB has an in-house team of IT engineers experienced in configuring these systems and its development engineers have designed a range of ASI monitoring and switching products for use in coding and mux projects.
  •   Transmitter Site Installations
    dB Broadcast provides design and installation services for transmitter site installations from the source feeds to the input of the transmitter. At many of the UK transmitter sites, dB has been responsible for carrying out all the cabling and installation work up to the input of the transmitter, including the installation of the PIE racks.
  •   PIE/TIE Systems
    dB Broadcast is the UK’s leading supplier of Programme Input Equipment (PIE) racks for monitoring and switching signals at transmitter sites. dB will customise the PIE configuration to meet the customer’s exact requirements. Prefabrication and testing will be done at dB’s factory and installation carried out by dB’s in-house technicians. dB’s experience includes the supply and installation of 400 bays of equipment at 81 transmitter sites throughout the UK. These systems are also known as Transmitter Input Equipment (TIE) racks.
