Company backgroundFounded in 1988, dB Broadcast is now one of the largest and most respected independent UK systems integrators. The company offers project management, system design, software configuration, equipment sourcing, prefabrication and system installation world-wide.
dB Broadcast also manufactures products for the broadcast industry. This includes its Hawkeye range of modules for monitoring and secure redundant switching of video, audio and digitally compressed signals at transmitter sites, cable headends, broadcast stations and satellite operations. Latest modules include a range of ASI transport stream detectors and 2x1 ASI switchers.
Additionaly, dB Broadcast will design and manufacture custom units. These special products can be fully designed by dB or may incorporate a customer's existing circuit design. The company has its own in-house PCB design and build capability.
With a staff of 35, it operates from purpose-built premises near Cambridge. In 2000 it added a new manufacturing facility, doubling the space to 16,000 square-feet. Here, many of the systems it produces are pre-fabricated and tested before being shipped, saving on-site time and helping quality control.
dB Broadcast's project managers and system engineers have a wide experience within the broadcast industry from complete turnkey TV and radio studio projects to transmission systems and OB vehicles. And a team of in-house wiring supervisors and technicians enable dB to take on multiple large projects, maintain quality standards at every installation and confidently commit to completion dates.
A purpose built training centre was opened by dB in 1999. It is one of the few systems integrators to employ and train its own wiring technicians.
